To receive the notes of the meeting held on 26 January

The notes of the meeting held on 25 January were received by the Group.

The Group will be asked to approve the SCAPE Service Request.

The Corporate Project Manager provided a presentation on the SCAPE Service Request for Multidisciplinary Services to design and deliver public realm improvement schemes for Bishopric/Worthing Road and Carfax 2023-2025, seeking approval for the revised Service Request.

This included an overview of the public realm strategy, which highlighted the guiding principles and objectives of the project. The Corporate Project Manager advised Members that the SCAPE Consultancy and Infrastructure Framework could accelerate delivery, working collaboratively with a contractor, in order to avoid a lengthy EU tendering process. The framework is EU and UK legally compliant. 

After noting the service request as outlined, the next step will be to obtain Cabinet approval. The estimated timescales for design, costings and planning permission are 12 months, with a further 12 months for construction. A request was made that provision for cycling was considered as part of the design.

It was agreed that the presentation would be circulated, and Members would provide any further comments to the Corporate Project Manager.
