Active and Completed ePetitions

An e-Petition is a petition which collects signatures online. This allows petitions and supporting information to be made available to a potentially much wider audience than a traditional paper based petition.

Anyone who lives, works or studies in the area can submit or sign an e-Petition.

A petition will not be accepted where:
• it is considered vexatious, abusive or otherwise inappropriate. If a petition does not follow the Council's guidelines we may decide not to do anything further with it. In that case, we will write to you to explain the reasons;
•it refers to a development plan, specific planning or licensing matter (representations and petitions relating to planning applications should be submitted using the planning public access system);
•it refers to a decision for which there is an existing right of appeal;or
•it is a statutory petition (for example requesting a referendum on having an elected mayor).

E-Petitions are part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to listening to and acting on the views of the public.
