Waste and Recycling - Collections update The Head of Waste, Street Scene & Fleet will give a presentation to the Group to update them on waste and recycling collections in the district Minutes: The Head of Waste, Recycling, Street Scene & Fleet Services provided the Group with an update on bin collections since the changeover to alternate weekly bin collections. The crew and communication centre were now familiar with the recently introduced data management system. This was a more efficient way of reporting issues en route.
Collections over the Christmas period had run smoothly, although there had been six formal complaints (the same number as received over the 2017 Christmas period). The Group noted that some complaints arose from the inevitable increase in rubbish generated during this period.
The Recycling Support Officer explained the newly established waste audit process, which recorded the amount of recycling placed in the general waste bins. This data was shared with West Sussex Waste Partnership. |
