Strategic Grants for Community Groups To receive an update from the Head of Housing & Community Services on the proposed allocations of strategic grants for 2021/22 Minutes: The Head of Housing & Community Services provided the group with an overview of the applications received for strategic and community grants for 2021/22.
Eleven organisations were proposed to receive strategic grants that will need to be considered by Cabinet and Full Council as part of the budget setting process. Two applications had been rejected as they didn’t meet the required criteria to receive a strategic grant.
The Head of Housing & Community Services summarised the proposed community grant partnerships and individual grant amounts.

Covid - 19 update To receive an update from the Head of Housing & Community Services and the Head of Environmental Health & Licensing, which will include: the latest figures; compliance and enforcement; and the ongoing vaccination rollout Minutes: It was reported that the Community Response Hubs were operating again though demand had been lessened due to members of the public having their own support systems in place.
HDC would continue to relay information received from central government and local surgeries providing vaccinations to the public.
Infection rates had decreased across Sussex by roughly a third and track and trace numbers had been seen to stabilise.
HDC had been providing advice to local businesses in the lead up to Christmas and planned to continue doing so.

Environment Health update To receive an update from the Head of Environmental Health & Licensing Minutes: Environmental Health inspections and visits were being triaged by the team and provided on a need basis.
Food inspections on a whole had a 50% inspection rate but high-risk areas would be inspected by the end of March 2021. |

Health & Wellbeing update To receive a service update from the Head of Housing & Community Services Minutes: The Health and Wellbeing team would look at using an empty retail space in town to set up a Health and Wellbeing advice centre for the public. It was anticipated to open once lockdown restrictions had eased. |
