Minutes:

The notes of the previous meeting held on 5 July were received by the Group.

8.

Countywide Community Advice contract

Minutes:

The Head of Housing & Community Services reported that the Countywide Community Advice Contract would be subject to a new procurement process from April 2022. It is proposed to operate for seven years with West Sussex County Council undertaking the procurement process.

 

Funding from this contract would go towards continuing the current level of service across the district provided by the Citizens Advice (CA). Moving forward CA would continue to provide virtual appointments introduced during the pandemic as well as holding face to face appointments.

9.

Strong & Steady Procurement

Minutes:

The Head of Housing & Community Services highlighted that from April 2022, Horsham District Council is considering employing an outside organisation to provide the Strong & Steady programme across the whole district. It was confirmed that the classes would take place in multiple venue types, not just leisure centres.

 

10.

Strategic Grants

Minutes:

The Head of Housing & Community Services informed the Group that the process to apply for strategic grants was made live and the team are receiving a healthy amount of applications.

 

11.

Five years funding for Health and Wellbeing Service

Minutes:

The Head of Housing & Community Services informed the Group that West Sussex Public Health would provide a 5-year funding contract in March 2022. This would allow the Health & Wellbeing Team to better plan ahead as previously they only provided a rolling 1-year contract.

12.

Young People suicide support update

Minutes:

The Community Service Manager provided an update on Horsham Districts Council’s role in Young People Suicide Support.

 

HDC provide a community level response across strategic, tactical, and operational levels. The main role of Community Services would be to build resilience and increase capacity within the district.
