To consider the recommendation of the Employment Committee of 11^th January 2018 on the appointment of the Head of Legal and Democratic Services/Monitoring Officer

It was reported that, following an assessment process and interviews, the Employment Committee recommended that Sharon Evans should be appointed Head of Legal and Democratic Services/Monitoring Officer for Horsham District Council.

It was moved by Councillor Philip Circus and seconded by Councillor David Skipp that the recommendation of the Employment Committee should be approved.

            RESOLVED

(i)         That Sharon Evans be appointed to the position of Head of Legal and Democratic Services with effect from a date to be agreed, in accordance with the recommendation of the Employment Committee.

(ii)        That Sharon Evans be designated the Monitoring Officer of Horsham District Council under Section 5 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, with effect from the date of her appointment.

REASON

To comply with the provisions of Section 5 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 in respect of the appointment of the Monitoring Officer.
