To confer the title of Honorary Alderman on: Deridan Hilliard Dr David Holmes Sheila Matthews, MBE Roger J. Paterson
in recognition of their eminent service to the Council and the community Minutes: The Vice-Chairman, in the Chair, advised Members that the purpose of the meeting was to confer the title of Honorary Alderman on four past members of the Council in recognition of their eminent service to the Council and the community, in pursuance of Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972.
DERIDAN HILLIARD
It was moved by Councillor Liz Kitchen, seconded by Councillor Peter Burgess and
RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY
That the title of Honorary Alderman of Horsham District be conferred upon Deridan Hilliard in recognition of his eminent service to the Council and the community.
The Vice-Chairman presented Mr Hilliard with a badge and certificate.
Honorary Alderman Deridan Hilliard then gave a short speech of thanks.
DR DAVID HOLMES
It was moved by Councillor David Skipp, seconded by Councillor Gordon Lindsay and
RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY
That the title of Honorary Alderman of Horsham District be conferred upon Dr David Holmes in recognition of his eminent service to the Council and the community.
The Vice-Chairman presented Dr Holmes with a badge and certificate.
Honorary Alderman Dr David Holmes then gave a short speech of thanks.
SHEILA MATTHEWS, MBE
It was moved by Councillor Brian O’Connell, seconded by Councillor Tricia Youtan, supported by Councillor Liz Kitchen and
RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY
That the title of Honorary Alderman of Horsham District be conferred upon Sheila Matthews, MBE in recognition of her eminent service to the Council and the community.
The Vice-Chairman presented Mrs Matthews with a badge and certificate.
Honorary Alderman Sheila Matthews then gave a short speech of thanks.

It was moved by Councillor Brian Donnelly, seconded by Councillor Jonathan Chowen, supported by Councillor Roy Cornell and
RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY
That the title of Honorary Alderman of Horsham District be conferred upon Roger J. Paterson in recognition of his eminent service to the Council and the community.
The Vice-Chairman presented Mr Paterson with a badge and certificate.
Honorary Alderman Roger Paterson then gave a short speech of thanks.
